  • Ingredients:

    • 5 cups of organic wholemeal flour (we use Hyslops from Kaikoura as it is local)
    • 1 teaspoon of salt
    • 1 dessert spoon of honey
    • 2 teaspoons of yeast
    • 2 quarters of a cup of warm water
  • Instructions:

    1. In a large bowl, add the organic wholemeal flour and the salt
    2. In a Jug, add the honey, yeast, and warm water
    3. When the mixture has frothed up to the top of the jug make a well in the Centre of the bowl and pour in the liquid
    4. Mix thoroughly
    5. Add another one and a half cups of water until you have incorporated all the flour
    6. At this stage you can mix in whatever you feel like e.g. sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, half a cup of fresh herbs
    7. Place in a loaf tin which has been oiled and is warm and leave to rise in a warm place until it has reached the top of the tin
    8. Make a cut down the centre of the loaf and bake in a preheated oven at 180C for forty minutes
