Skin problems would be one of the main problems that come to me as there are a lot of children with eczema, as well as adults with eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, urticaria, vitilago.
Skin problems can be caused by many factors so it is important to identify the triggers and irritants. Just applying hydro cortisone cream does not get to the cause of the problem.
I start by looking at your nutrition and identifying any food allergies that may be a problem. I do allergy tests to check for food allergies and sensitivities to dust mite, pollen and animals and chemicals.
Unless you deal with the cause of the problem and remove the allergens and follow a healthy skin nutritional programme, creams will only clear it up for a short time and then it will return.
Caring for Children with Eczema
When caring for children with eczema, here are some important steps to keep inmind:
Limit chemical exposure - talk to me about natural cleaning products.
Feed your child fresh foods that do not contain colouring, preservatives or flavour enhances.
Get an Allergy Test done.
Discuss with me the right nutrients needed to heal internally the eczema and to get the child’s digestive system into a healthy state.
Moisturise your child's skin three or four times a day.
For other skin conditions such as psoriasis, nutrition is also important but it is more important to find out the cause. Stress can be a big trigger, so I will set out strategies to help you deal with the stress in your life.
Psoriasis requires getting the digestive system healthy and taking the right oils internally along with reducing auto-immune response and inflammation and anti-inflammatory cream. Foods high in essential fatty acids are important and protein is essential for connective tissue support and should be consumed daily. I also test to see if there are any vitamin and mineral deficiencies.
Nutrition plays an important part along with high potency Ultra Pure EPA/DHA liquid to improve Epithelial integrity and reduce inflammation. I check vitamin and mineral levels and particularly zinc that is so important for the skin. Stress can be another trigger, so I also look at your stress levels.
This can be very stressing for a teenager and they feel embarrassed ann often do not socialize due to their skin problem.
Teenage diets are not usually the best so along with a poor diet and changing hormones this can cause a big problem. By helping them understand the importance of good nutrition, and giving them natural medication to balance out their hormones and clear tissue wastes, they can start to see a huge difference in their skin and feel happy and more confident.
I also prescribe topical anti-inflammatory and antibacterial skin lotion to sooth and heal.
I had a 52 year old in a few weeks ago who had been stung by a bee and her whole face had become red, inflamed and blistered and was now peeling. She had been under the care of skin specialists who had prescribed medication which then caused drug induced lupus.
By getting her digestive system healthy, prescribing herbs and nutrients and a good diet the difference in her skin is phenomenal. She is so excited that she raced in to the clinic to give me a big hug and say Thank you so much.
This shows that by detoxifying the system and getting your internal misgovernment right, it can make a huge difference.
I also have my own formulation of skin cream which takes the heat and itchiness out of dry inflamed skin. The base is pure vitamin E cream with a combination of wonderful healing herbs.
No longer do you have to suffer with itchy inflamed skin.
Just make an appointment with me and I will help you get it healthy again.
